It caps the customer’s annual bill at a set amount, for 2023/2024 this would be £443.40 per year, regardless of how much water the customer needs to use.

To be eligible, the customer or someone in their household, must be receiving at least one of the following benefits or tax credits:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (not just the family part)
  • Housing Benefit
  • Pension Credit
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
