Additional Information

In our community, we firmly believe that no one should have to endure hunger. To combat this pressing issue, we offer three days' worth of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local individuals facing crisis. This initiative is made possible through our affiliation with The Trussell Trust, a nationwide network of foodbanks striving to alleviate poverty and hunger across the UK.

The Trussell Trust plays a pivotal role in supporting communities and churches in establishing foodbanks throughout the UK. Our foodbank is one of 428 foodbanks within The Trussell Trust's network, dedicated to tackling food poverty and hunger in both our local area and the entire country.

The inception of The Foodbank Network traces back to 2004 when the original foodbank in Salisbury underwent four years of development. Subsequently, The Trussell Trust facilitated the collaboration of communities in launching foodbanks in various towns and cities nationwide.

During the 2022/23 period, The Trussell Trust's network of foodbanks distributed an impressive 2,986,203 three-day emergency food supplies to individuals facing crisis in the UK. Among these recipients, 1,139,553 were children in need.

Looking ahead, our shared vision as a network is to witness more individuals being uplifted from crisis situations, resulting in fewer people relying on foodbanks. To achieve this goal, The Trussell Trust and local foodbanks are actively working together, devising innovative programs like "More Than Food" to provide comprehensive assistance and support to those facing challenging circumstances.
