Additional Information
Community Stores provide a welcoming, practical lifeline for members, with access to discounted food and everyday essentials. From fresh fruit and veg to bread priced at just 20p, members can shop for a full weekly basket at around a third of the usual retail cost. Just as importantly, people can choose the items they need, helping them shop with dignity and stay in control of their choices.
What makes these spaces even more special is what happens beyond the shelves. Any profits from the store are reinvested straight back into the Community Hub, supporting people through the What If plan. This holistic approach helps members build skills, confidence and resilience, supporting them to create brighter, more secure futures for themselves.
Each Community Shop is also home to a Community Kitchen – a friendly café-style space where people can connect, learn through food, and enjoy affordable, home-cooked meals. With kids eating free every day, the kitchen plays a vital role in bringing people together and rebuilding a sense of community in areas where resources can be limited.
There are Community Shops across the UK, each shaped by local needs. In the North-West there are shops in Warrington, Halton and Liverpool. The shops are trusted hubs for wellbeing, connection and support – showing the power of community when it comes together.
