Are you a family or know of a family who needs support?
There is no rulebook for raising a family and sometimes it can seem overwhelming, particularly if you are going through difficult times. Home-Start Blackburn and Darwen can help you and your family, we understand what you are going through.
Are you a parent or have lots of experience of working with young children?
Could you help make a difference to young families? Can you spare 2 to 3 hours a week to visit a family in their home? Many parents need help, friendship, encouragement and support during those early years when children are so young. Your experience and skills can help other parents.
Who are the volunteers?
Home-Start volunteers are people from different backgrounds and vary in age, but all have parenting experience. They will visit you in your own home and accept you as you are.
They have been approved and have all attended a course of preparation before being matched with families.
