The Bread and Butter Thing (TBBT) is a surplus food charity aiming to increase accessibility to affordable food. At food hubs each week, members attend and buy low-cost food. United Utilities has committed to attending the hub sessions to chat to members and signpost to their services, including the Water Without Worry initiative, which helps people manage their water bills and access affordability schemes. TBBT members tend to be living fairly month-to-month, keeping their heads above water, but have a lot on their plate. Hub visits are invaluable as they can help members connect with services that may be able to provide further support. For so many people, help is hidden and hard to access, so having Partners attend the hub can help spread the word and help people access the help they’re entitled to.
